In Memory, On Monday, the second day of Pesah, Isaac Cohen (better known as Ustath Ishaq), the former principal of the Frank Iny School died in London at the age of 82 after a long illness. He was buried there on Tuesday April 26. Ustath Ishaq graduated from the College of Engineering of the University of Baghdad. In the early 1950's he joined the Frank Iny School as a teacher, following the mass immigration of Jews from Iraq. He taught Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, and very often replaced other teachers , who also taught these subjects at the school. He eventually became the principal of the Frank Iny School who was primary and intermediate school. During his tenure as an educator and principal, more than 1500 students attended the school under his leadership or studied in his classes. They were from among the members of the last Jewish community of Iraq, which eventually left the country. Following the close of the Frank Iny School, he left Iraq in 1975 and settled in London. In the British capital, he became a businessperson. During the last few months, his health has been deteriorating and he was recently hospitalized for 3 weeks due to chess infection. He died at his home in London. He is survived by his wife Simha, and three children, Farid, Thia'a and Nabil.
